چکیده

Abstract Background Available data collected from patients of different types cerebrovascular strokes can detect risk factors, severity and clinical outcome these patients. Differentiating between is mandatory for early diagnosis proper management. The aim this study to compare cerebral small vessel disease with lacunar infarctions internal border zone regarding vasomotor reactivity by using transcranial color-coded duplex its correlation their MRI perfusion, outcome. Results On admission, 56.7% in stroke had impaired vs. 100% group. At 3 months follow-up, number dropped 23.3% group, but persisted as comparing the perfusion parameters 2 groups, there was statistically significant impairment all infarction than (longer time peak, decreased blood flow volume). By National Institute Health Stroke Scale, it found that higher disability on admission discharge. group a better Conclusion Patients having worse prognosis, together more infarction.

Pravastatin improves cerebral vasomotor reactivity in patients with subcortical small-vessel disease.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Recent investigations have suggested an important role of statins in the prevention of stroke and dementia independent of their lipid-lowering properties. Using transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD), we examined acetazolamide reactivity as a marker of cerebral vasoreactivity in patients with subcortical small-vessel disease before and after pravastatin treatment. METHOD...

Sublingual microvascular changes in patients with cerebral small vessel disease.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE It is unknown whether changes in cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) are limited to the brain or part of a generalized vascular disorder. METHODS We examined the sublingual microcirculation of 10 healthy controls, 10 patients with large vessel disease, and 8 with SVD, with side-stream dark field imaging. We analyzed 146 video fragments masked to the origin of the videos...

Thrombolysis in acute stroke patients with cerebral small vessel disease.

BACKGROUND Thrombolytic treatment is of proven benefit in acute ischemic stroke. The term cerebral small vessel disease (SVD) refers to a group of pathological processes affecting the small arteries, arterioles, venules and capillaries of the brain, and encompasses both ischemic and hemorrhagic lesions. Lacunar stroke, an expression of SVD, is associated with an unfavorable long-term prognosis ...

Brief cognitive assessment for patients with cerebral small vessel disease.

BACKGROUND Cerebral small vessel disease is a common cause of cognitive impairment and vascular dementia. The cognitive deficit differs from that in Alzheimer's disease, with greater executive/attentional dysfunction and relatively intact episodic memory. OBJECTIVE To develop brief assessment tools that are better adapted to the neuropsychological profile of cerebral small vessel disease. M...
